Dylan Bowen comes from a long line of traditional British slipware - beautifully decorated earthenware using traditional and contemporary techniques and materials. He throws, handbuilds, carves, sculpts and works with slips that are poured, trailed or brushed on and has found his way from the traditional styles to one that has an expression and energy more akin to punk than the rural pottery scene.
He works on a small but ever mutating range of shapes and with a restrained palette of slips. In this episode we talk about his journey and what inspires him to make.
